Buying and selling privately in Spain

Has anyone ever bought privately? I think it is a really good idea. Spanish estate agents often charge between 6-10% on top of the asking price!!!

Sellers, who by cutting out the cost of estate agents, are able to sell their properties at much lower prices, saving €1,000's! Sellers can use some of this saving to reduce the price of their house and so attract buyers.

There are many sites such as http://www.private-property-4sale.com (http://www.private-property-4sale.com) where there are plenty of good properties for sale. If you want to advertise it's only £10. Another way is to advertise in the papers, I know we looked in the SUR, and it's actually not very expensive to advertise in there so may be worth trying trying a combination!!

A great company to use is Open Sky Property. They speak spanish and English, and therefore provide any translating services you need. They deal mainly around the sunny Valencia area, and if you tell them what you need and your price range, they can work out a variety of options for you. They provide all services, such as picking you up from the airport or train station, and driving you around to the properties. Anything you need, and they are there for you!!
